Miley Cyrus has proven herself to be adept at covering classic rock songs throughout her career. UltimateClassicRock.com recently outlined 24 of the best. Check them out below!
Most of the videos you’ll see come from live performances – sometimes her own shows and others when she’s sitting in with friends, including some high-profile TV appearances. But there are also a handful of times where Cyrus recorded classic songs in the studio. Hear how she’s interpreted songs by such diverse artists as the Beatles, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Joan Jett, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and more below.
A.T.L.D.V. talks about the future of stylish R&B in a recent interview with RhymeJunkie.com. Formed in Augusta, Georgia in 2012, the group is made up of Amy Christine, Nako DeVincci, and Ike Nyce, along with a talented array of backing musicians during live performances.
When asked which singers or musicians influence them the most, Amy Christine replied saying:
Personally, I get influences from several pop artists! I am a huge fan of Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, and Rihanna.
It’s her party, she can do what she wants. And these days, for Miley Cyrus, that means a solid hike and maybe a green juice?
The pop star, who once sang about “dancing with Molly” and has waxed poetically about her love of pot, surprised everyone last month when she revealed she’d spent the previous half a year as a dedicated teetotaler. Or, as she put it to Variety‘s Marc Malkin, “sober sober.” What began as a means of preserving her voice following a November vocal cord surgery has turned into an entire lifestyle overhaul, the singer relishing in needling mom Tish Cyrus and country legend dad Billy Ray Cyrus, he of the newly launched cannabis line, about their marijuana use.
“One of my favorite interviews is when I say, ‘Anyone that smokes weed is a dummy,'” she told Malkin. “That one I love to send to my parents, who are big stoners, every now and then.”
And should they, or anyone else for that matter, challenge her stance, the 27-year-old pays them no mind. “It’s really hard because, especially being young, there’s that stigma of ‘You’re no fun,'” she allowed. “It’s like, ‘Honey, you can call me a lot of things, but I know that I’m fun.'”
And, now, completely clear-headed as well. “The thing that I love about it is waking up 100 percent, 100 percent of the time,” she said. “I don’t want to wake up feeling groggy. I want to wake up feeling ready.”
That she wants to wake up beside boyfriend of nine months, Cody Simpson, goes without saying. Having landed his dream girl, the person he once dubbed his “childhood celebrity crush”, the 23-year-old Australian singer continues to be her most devoted champion. “We keep each other in a good place,” he said during an October appearance on The Kyle and Jackie O Show of the shared sobriety that cemented their developing romance last fall. “That’s what’s really healthy about it and I think that’s the first time I’ve had that in a relationship. We’re very, very much on the same page.”
Bandsintown + Billboard are tracking online activity as fans seek out their favourite artists’ digital live performances.
Bandsintown has recorded over 35,000 livestreams by over 12,000 artists since March 25. Now live on Billboard.com, there are three new charts, all based on global online data.
The rankings are determined by a blending of event RSVPs and direct-to-platform ‘Watch Live’ clicks. The July 11-dated charts reflect data for the tracking week of June 26-July 2.
Multi-artist, charity-minded initiatives have been overwhelmingly popular since COVID-19 sent musicians and fans into a global lockdown. Global Citizen held Global Goal: Unite for Our Future – The Concert on June 27, featuring a wide array of A-list acts. The stream achieved millions of streams and encouraged engagement online that dominates the inaugural Bandsintown x Billboard livestream charts.
Coldplay (5.9 million trackers) reigns over the Top Livestream Artists ranking, fueled by a performance of “Paradise” on the Global Citizen event. Further, event performances by Justin Bieber (No. 9), Shakira (No. 11), and Miley Cyrus (No. 23) scatter throughout the chart.
Singer-actress Miley Cyrus has purchased a Hidden Hills home for a little over $4.95 million in an off-market transaction.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer used a trust to facilitate the deal, which closed in late June, according to real estate records. The seller was Steven Baio, the brother of actor Scott Baio.
The Traditional-style house was built in 1957, but was recently renovated and expanded. Wide-plank wood floors, vaulted ceilings and a new-look kitchen are among the features of note. A snazzy wet bar near the entry is decked out in Mercury glass.
A home theater with a snack bar, formal living and dining rooms, a family room, six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms also lie within about 6,000 square feet of living space.
Outdoors on the 1.18-acre site are a sunken dining area, a barbecue pavilion and a lagoon-style swimming pool. A white-picket fence encloses a grassy hillside to the rear.
The property was most recently listed last summer at $5.099 million. Multiple Listing Service records indicate it was leased out last fall at $39,000 a month.
Cyrus has a history with the area, having sold another home in the guard-gated equestrian community two years ago for $5 million, The Times previously reported.
The daughter of musician Billy Ray Cyrus, Cyrus gained fame at an early age as the child star of Disney’s “Hannah Montana.” As a singer, the 27-year-old has released six studio albums, most recently “Younger Now” in 2017. Her seventh album, “She is Miley Cyrus,” is expected to be released later this year.
Suzi Quatro’s years-in-the-making documentary Suzi Q just came out, but the bass-playing glam-rock pioneer, who has sold 50 million records worldwide, is already setting her sights on her next cinematic venture: a biopic. And she already has a few actresses in mind who could fill her signature Leather Tuscadero jumpsuit for the role, including two iconoclastic teen stars.
“Miley Cyrus was one suggestion, and funny enough — and I’m a fan, she’s great, a very talented girl — lot of my fans don’t seem to like that connection. I don’t know why,” Quatro tells Yahoo Entertainment/SiriusXM Volume. “Another suggestion has been Billie Eilish. This has been suggested. There’s another actress, though I have yet to see what she’s done, suggested by more than one person: Melissa Roxburgh. Everybody has been approached, and they all want to see the script, and they all are watching the documentary. But all I will say is this: I know that there’s a certain vibe here. It’s a vibe, and this vibe, whatever it is, you can’t act.”
Quatro says that, despite her fans’ misgivings, she thinks Cyrus has “got a lot” going for her: the acting ability, the singing chops, the penchant for leather, and even the mullet. “So, I need to meet her and say, ‘Yeah.’ I just need to have that connection. She wants the script and so do Billie Eilish’s people, and we shall see. I will know the person when I meet them. When I hand my life over to somebody to act, I want it to be the right one.”
Quatro says the biopic’s script is being delivered in two weeks, though she can’t yet divulge which director is attached to the project. But in the meantime, she’s excitedly promoting Suzi Q — and there’s a 1982 scene in that documentary that certainly Cyrus, Eilish, or Roxburgh could have a breakout moment with: When Suzi won Britain’s infamous “Rear of the Year” contest, and a U.K. chat show host got a little handsy on live TV.
Miley Cyrus has taken to social media to post about July 4th celebrations!
The singer reminded her 111 million followers on social media that not everyone in the United States sees “liberty and justice.”
“This was in 2017,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram, where she posted her introduction to an old “Party in the U.S.A.” performance on Saturday (July 4). “Feels EVEN MORE relevant right NOW. It ain’t a Party In The USA until we see #LibertyandJusticeFORALL you heard me, FOR ALL! #fuckthefourthuntilthereisfreedom.”
