Popsugar recently put together 12 times that Miley Cyrushonoured other artists with applause-worthy song covers. Check out their list below!
Sure, we love when Miley Cyrus performs her most popular bangers, but there’s something magical about her covers. Over the years, the 27-year-old singer has crooned quite a few classic tunes from other big-name artists, including Ariana Grande, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, and Bob Dylan. She’s also belted out a handful of impressive renditions of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and recently wowed viewers with a performance of The Beatles’ “Help!” at a virtual Global Citizen event. In honour of Cyrus’s knack for revering other vocalists, watch her best covers ahead!
“It’s really hard because especially being young, there’s that stigma of ‘You’re no fun,'” she told the outlet. “It’s like, ‘Honey, you can call me a lot of things, but I know that I’m fun.’ The thing that I love about it is waking up 100 percent, 100 percent of the time. I don’t want to wake up feeling groggy. I want to wake up feeling ready.”
Kaitlynn Carter spoke out about her previous relationship with Miley Cyrus in a podcast interview with Nick Viall‘s The Viall Files, opening up about her and Miley’s very public breakup in September 2019.
Kaitlynn said her experience, being in a relationship with Miley, if anything made her want to keep her personal life more private, not something you would expect from a reality TV star, as Kaitlynn stars in The Hills: New Beginnings.
“What I’ve really realized is now with dating, I’m super private about it. Since last fall, once that whole situation [with Miley] came to a wrap, I was like, ‘That’s the last time I’m doing a public thing.'”
“We actually did work pretty hard to keep it as private as we could, but it is what it is. It’s so hard to go through a breakup in the public eye, too… It’s so rough. But there’s also a lot to be gained and learned from that,” the reality TV personality expressed.

Miley Cyrus was one of the stars heavily involved in Global Citizen’s ‘Global Goal: Unite for Our Future’ that took place last weekend (Saturday 27th June) with the aim of Global Goal to secure the big bucks needed to ensure COVID-19 tests, and ultimately treatments and vaccines, are available to everyone who needs them.
Miley performed a a “noteworthy” cover of the Beatles “Help!”, but was inspired by Dolly Parton’s version of the song, in an empty Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
The word “Help!” was spelled out in HUGE letters across the stadium’s field, with Miley performing the song “Help!” on the exclamation point.
JoJo Siwa, unveiled her new hair style on TikTok last Friday, and the sound she included to accompany her video also had fans talking.
The video included a “short snippet” of Miley Cyrus’s 2010 hit single “Can’t Be Tamed”. JoJo is a known massive Miley fan! We’ve seen Miley’s music appearing in JoJo’s TikTok video’s prior to this one, and JoJo also shared back in March that she met Miley and it was the “Best Day of My [JoJo’s] Life”.
On Friday, JoJo unveiled her new look on TikTok, and the music that she chose to accompany her video had some of her fans all abuzz. JoJo’s upload included a short snippet of the 2010 Miley Cyrus song “Can’t Be Tamed.” The tune marked the start of a new musical era for Miley, who had spent most of her teenage years playing a pop star on the family-friendly Disney Channel series Hannah Montana.
JoJo’s TikTok video began with a shot of the 17-year-old pop star rocking the sparkly and colorful look that her fans are accustomed to seeing. Her hair was slicked up in a high ponytail with a bedazzled bow. She wore a pale purple sequin top, a pink corduroy jacket, and a pair of black polka-dot pants with glitter stripes down the sides.
JoJo mouthed along with the audio of the Miley song as she smiled and pointed at the camera, and she then spun around. The video was edited to make it look like her hair color suddenly changed from blond to brunette, while her outfit remained the same.
Miley Cyrus spoke to Vogue.com about her Global Goal: Unite For Our Future performance, and what inspired her outfit choices.
Miley performed a cover of Dolly Parton’s version of “Help!” which is originally by The Beatles, with the performance being recorded at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena in California.
The purpose of the concert Global Goal: Unite For Our Future was to end social injustices and continue fighting against COVID-19.
Cyrus also looked to The Beatles’s original album artwork for “Help!” and gave the oversized blue shirts worn by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr a more glamorous twist.
But instead of a tent-like top, Cyrus’s rendition was an ab-revealing gown complete with dazzling crystals, an asymmetric sleeve, and a high slit courtesy of Alexandre Vauthier couture. “I wanted it to stay vibrant and hopeful like the melody of the song,” Cyrus tells Vogue of her look. “I love how this dress represents ‘Glam Rock.’ A little more [David] Bowie than The Beatles—with a nod to Dolly [Parton], whose version of ‘Help!’ I used as inspiration for my cover.” Parton, who is Cyrus’s godmother, is surely proud of the glam end result.

Miley Cyrus was one of the first celebrities to adapt to the new COVID-19 world order. Not long after stay-at-home rules were implemented, the singer-actor launched “Bright Minded,” a talk show on Instagram Live with a guest list that has included Elton John, Demi Lovato, Kerry Washington and Selena Gomez. “I loved how there was really no pressure. It was like, if the show went over, if the show had some tech problems, it was just about doing it for the love of it,” she says on Tuesday’s episode of the Variety and iHeart podcast “The Big Ticket.”
Asked if she’s developing “Bright Minded” as a television talk show, Cyrus teases, “We’ll see.”
Before the pandemic, the former “Hannah Montana” star dipped back into acting with a starring role in an episode of the Netflix anthology series “Black Mirror.” She plays Ashley O, a seemingly happy pop star who wants to move on from her controlling manager, her aunt Catherine (Susan Pourfar). When her aunt slips her too many pills, Ashley falls into a coma, but a fan (Angourie Rice) helps her wake up and break free. Cyrus is being submitted for Emmy consideration in the guest actress in a drama series category.
