Miley Cyrus has been quiet on the music scene recently but she returned with a bang for her first release of the year. The “Who Owns My Heart” songstress dropped her new single, “Midnight Sky,” worldwide on Friday, and everyone is talking.
After seeing teasers for the song on social media all week, critics and fans have finally discovered that it was worth the hype as they can’t stop saying great stuff about the track.
NME called the song “bold” while Idolator insisted that Cyrus “saved pop” with her “dreamy disco anthem.”
Miley Cyrus is back with new music! On Aug. 10, Cyrus dropped a teaser for her upcoming single, “Midnight Sky,” alongside a Rocky Horror-esque video of her lips. This is just the latest in a number of somewhat cryptic teasers the 27-year-old’s posted on her Instagram, including a clip from her “Start All Over” video, which she simply captioned “Meet Miley Cyrus. . . again.” Cyrus exudes boss b*tch attitude in the clips, wearing head-to-toe designer labels.
This could be hinting at a new era of music for the singer following her 2019 She Is ComingEP, as “Midnight Sky” seems to have an electro-pop vibe complete with a light helping of synth. Cyrus also teased that Dua Lipa had heard what the fans hadn’t. Does this mean that there’s a collaboration in the works? Could Dua Lipa actually be on the song? While you may have to wait until Aug. 14 to get all the answers, you can put this teaser on repeat.
She came in like a wrecking ball with her new song on Instagram.
Miley Cyrus released a teaser Wednesday for her forthcoming track “Midnight Sky” by posting it on Instagram using a nifty feature from the app’s new video platform, Reels.
In a clip showcasing the new tune, the genre-bending singer poses cooly in sunglasses, layered necklaces and a white tank top in front of a neon sign reading “disco” while the groovy notes play in the background. Her jewelry and shades glisten with digitally edited sparkles as she moves through the pink light in the video captioned, “Tease.”
In a separate post, Cyrus directly called out the new feature, writing: “MIDNIGHT SKY – teaser available on Instagram Reels.”
The 27-year-old — who is set to release a new album called “She Is Miley Cyrus” — drummed up excitement about the app’s latest TikTok-like feature, and Reels was trending on Twitter shortly after. Cyrus has yet to announce an official release date for her seventh album.
Last night (27th July), members of Miley Cyrus‘s band posted some photos on Instagram from a rehearsal session.
A couple of hours later, Miley uploaded a photo onto her Instagram story, which said: “We will We will rock you….. But we’ll also protect you and your loved ones by having socially distanced band practice wearing masks! Rock on w your mask on.”
It was announced last week that Miley will be performing at the 2020 iHeartRadio Festival, which will be held virtually in September. There are also rumours of further performances and new music to be announced!
