Spotify have introduced their Spotify Canvas to Instagram Story sharing.
Spotify’s Canvas brings a new life to certain artist’s tracks with an accompanying moving piece of art/video loop. It breathes another layer into their music as you listen and earlier this year Spotify made them shareable for the artist on Instagram.
Artists and fans alike have loved the new moving images so much that Spotify are launching the feature further so that listeners can add the Canvas loop to their Instagram Stories. Canvas social sharing will be available to users over the next week from the Spotify app.
To ensure that the feature is launched smoothly to all users they will roll it out in stages of users starting on Monday, June 8th. They expect that all Spotify users around the world will have access to the feature on Android and iOS by June 11th.
Canvas shares will loop 8 second Canvas art to fit Instagram’s 15 second stories though the audio of the track won’t be played. Stories will have a clickable link that will take any viewers straight to the Spotify app to listen from there.
Beauty 2 The Streetz is a non-profit organisation based in Los Angeles that provides make-up, showers, hair colour, and more for homeless women in Skid Row. The founder, Shirley Raines, recently posted an update on Twitter and Instagram thanking Miley Cyrus & The Happy Hippie Foundation for donating $30,000 towards them purchasing a new van to allow them to help more people.
“Thank you Miley Cyrus & Happy Hippie Foundation!
I founded Beauty2thestreetz as a mission to help broken people rediscover their beauty and as this nonprofit has grown I’ve been lucky enough to meet many beautiful people.
I’d like to thank Miley Cyrus and Happy Hippie Foundation for being BEAUTIFUL people who have shown us such kindness and who are actively working to support the under-served. Because of your generous donation of $30,000 we have surpassed our fundraising goal and will be able to purchase a van to expand our efforts in serving the homeless community of Los Angeles.
Thank you for your support and belief in our work.
We love you!”

Miley Cyrus put her support behind Black Lives Matter this week.
The “Slide Away” singer hit the streets of Los Angeles to ally with the Black community to encourage change and reform. Taking to Twitter with an image of her attending a peaceful protest, Cyrus also shared a moving message as a show of solidarity to those who have endured racial injustice, systemic racism, and police brutality.
“Yesterday I was joined by friends and experienced the power of peaceful protest organized by @blmlosangeles in front @mayorofla’s house with a simple demand: defund the police,” the musician shared. “There is a lot of work to be done to end systemic racism and white supremacy in our country, and I personally still have so much to learn and do to support.”
“Today, the charge against the officer who killed George Floyd was raised to second-degree murder and the other three officers involved in his death were charged too,” she added. “We can’t stop fighting for justice—justice for George Floyd, for Breonna Taylor, for Tony McDade, for Ahmaud Arbrey, and the too many names we don’t know— BLACK LIVES MATTER.”
The “We Can’t Stop” star’s message came hours after Derek Chauvin, the man accused of killing George Floyd— the Black man who lost his life during a fatal arrest in Minneapolis — had his initial third-degree murder charges raised to second-degree murder. Officers Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J Alexander Kueng — who all stood by as Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for several minutes, rendering Floyd unable to breathe — were also brought up on charges for the incident.
Cyrus’ support for Black Lives Matter didn’t end at this week’s protest, either. She was recently spotted wearing a face mask branding “Black Lives Matter” while hiking with boyfriend Cody Simpson Thursday afternoon.
