When it comes to fashion, Miley Cyrus wears her heart on her sleeve. Whether she’s sharing her political beliefs via DIY T-shirts or supporting her favorite charities through sneaker collaborations, the singer uses her wardrobe to send a message. Last night at “I Am the Highway,” Cyrus did just that at a concert in Inglewood, California, which honored the late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. Cyrus took to the stage to perform “Say Hello to Heaven” in a sweatshirt bearing Cornell’s image.
Paired with glossy PVC pants and platform boots, the T-shirt was a tribute to Cornell’s grunge-influenced personal style, as well as the rock ‘ n ‘ roll swagger that made him one of the era’s most memorable musicians. Though she changed into a violet Alexandre Vauthier mini dress and Saint Laurent glittery boots later in the evening for a different set, Cyrus’s more casual look was the one that struck a chord. It made for a loving tribute that hit all the right marks—the perfect choice for belting out one Cornell’s biggest hits.
Liam Hemsworth turned 29 yesterday, a feat his wife Miley Cyrus enthusiastically celebrated on Instagram with three tributes. The first was a video of the couple, another was a throwback photo of them 10 years ago, and the last was a very intimate, personal, and sweet love letter to Hemsworth. Cyrus and Hemsworth have kept their relationship largely private, but Cyrus’s public note to Hemsworth reveals some of the sweetest things about their “really regular life” together, as Cyrus put it to Howard Stern last month.
Miley Cyrus has responded to comments that she was collaborating with Shawn Mendes on her upcoming seventh studio album.
After it was rumoured that she would be working with the ‘Stitches’ singer – who is also said to be working with The 1975’s Matt Healy – fans started posting the speculated reports, to which Miley responded.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had a private wedding ceremony on December 23 in Cyrus’s Nashville home. The first photos of it came out shortly afterward when one of their guests and friends, Conrad Jack Carr, posted on his Instagram Story—something Miley didn’t really want to happen, her sister Brandi Cyrus revealed on her and Wells Adams’ podcast Your Favorite Thing, via Us Weekly.
The couple invited “a very, very small, tight-knit group of people” and asked for no photos to be taken. “Even with family and close friends, they still made a point to say, ‘Hey guys, this is a private thing for a reason,'” Brandi recalled. “‘We love you all, but please don’t take photos.’” That said, Conrad didn’t know about the couple’s request, so he posted his. When his photos came out, and media outlets started picking them up, Miley wasn’t mad, per Brandi. She “doesn’t really care” that everyone found out that way, Brandi said.
But Carr felt guilty. “He feels really bad,” Brandi said. “I didn’t really ask what happened, but I think from what he said, no one told him not to post about it, so he didn’t know.”
Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus’ collaborative tune “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” is quite the emotional number, and has fans craving more of that sultry swing. Well, they get it now, thanks to a chill new vertical video.
It’s a pretty laid-back look. It’s mostly Cyrus sitting on a stage while barely-clothed dancers walk slowly around a pole; Ronson joins her about halfway through. Maybe you’ll find the strippers mesmerizing as you hang loose on the couch.
The vertical clip comes on the heels of a recently-released acoustic version of the song, the original of which currently sits at No. 49 on the Hot 100.
If you’ve got some time to kill and feel like meditating on Cyrus’ shiny look, check out the “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” vertical video below.
