This Metal Icon is Excited to Hear Miley Cyrus’ Metallica Cove...
Published by: |   (0) Comments      Read MORE      Filed Under: Uncategorised

Miley Cyrus told Interview Magazine last month that she was working on an album comprised of Metallica covers. This, understandably, received a lot of attention, and one metal icon is looking forward to this album.

In an appearance on the Life In The Stocks podcast, Rob Halford said he “can’t wait” to hear Cyrus’s Metallica covers album and added, “That’s going to be great.”

The Metal God also said of Cyrus, “She is incredible. If you think about her life in showbusiness from being a little kid, and how she’s kept her head on straight… She went a bit mad as a teenager, which you should do, that’s your right, she was expressing herself. She has an extraordinary voice.”

“Women are so strong and powerful, especially in music… Gaga, Madonna, Miley, my friend Maria [Brinks] from In This Moment, and going back to Vinegar Joe with Elkie Brooks, and Janis Joplin and Shirley Bassey… the power of women can’t be understated.”

Cyrus, of course, has a long history of performing rock covers. She notably covered Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” during her set at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival where she also performed a snippet of Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog.” Last month, she included covers of the Cranberries’ “Zombie” and The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry” in her Save Our Stages set. She also performed at “I Am The Highway: A Tribute to Chris Cornell” in 2019 where she provided the vocals on the Temple of the Dog song “Say Hello 2 Heaven.”

Miley Cyrus Drops ‘Plastic Hearts’ Tracklist With Dua Lipa, ...
Published by: |   (0) Comments      Read MORE      Filed Under: Uncategorised

Miley Cyrus has revealed the tracklist for her upcoming seventh studio album Plastic Hearts, out November 27th via RCA.

Cyrus posted the 12-song list to Instagram, with a glam rock-inspired graphic that listed the songs in what looks like pink Sharpie. Every instance of her initials, “M” and “C,” are drawn in silver.

Along with posting the song names, Cyrus revealed the album’s featured collaborators, including Dua Lipa (on the song “Prisoner”), Billy Idol (on “Night Crawling”), and Joan Jett (on “Bad Karma”). Absent from the tracklist are Cyrus’ popular covers of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” and the Cranberries’ “Zombie,” which were originally reported to be part of the new album.

So far Cyrus has released one single from Plastic Hearts, “Midnight Sky.” She also released “Edge of Midnight,” a fan-made remix of the track that mashed it up with Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen.” Plastic Hearts will arrive in place of two EPs that Cyrus planned to release this year and later canceled after undergoing vocal cord surgery; last year, she teased those projects with the single “Slide Away.”

Miley Cyrus, Plastic Hearts Tracklist
1. “WTF Do I Know”
2. “Plastic Hearts”
3. “Angels Like You”
4. “Prisoner” feat. Dua Lipa
5. “Gimme What I Want”
6. “Night Crawling” feat. Billy Idol
7. “Midnight Sky”
8. “High”
9. “Hate Me”
10. “Bad Karma” feat. Joan Jett
11. “Never Be Me”
12. “Golden G String”

Miley Cyrus Is Releasing a Full Rock Album
Published by: |   (0) Comments      Read MORE      Filed Under: Uncategorised

Over the last few years, we’ve seen Miley Cyrus dip her toes into the rock world, but it appears she’s ready to dive in fully with her next studio album.

More or less confirming what some had suspected, Cyrus told a fan who tweeted at her with a Good Charlotte nod, “Girls don’t want boyfriends, girls want Miley Cyrus to release an entire rock album,” “Fuck yes! Your wish is my command baby.”

It just so happens that Cyrus has a new album called Plastic Hearts now on the release schedule for Nov. 27. It’ll be the follow-up to her 2017 country-leaning album Younger Now. Read the rest of this entry

Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks Team Up for ‘Edge of Seventeen’...
Published by: |   (0) Comments      Read MORE      Filed Under: Uncategorised

Because it’s not enough for just one vintage Stevie Nicks song to have reentered the zeitgeist (see: the TikTok “Dreams” resurgence), Miley Cyrus is doing her best to make sure that history quickly repeats itself by pushing another Nicks favorite, “Edge of Seventeen,” back into public prominence.

Late Thursday night, Miley released what is officially deemed “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix),” a track that mashes up her own current single, “Midnight Sky,” a top 20 hit released in August, with “Edge of Seventeen,” the hit that appeared on Nicks’ first solo album, “Bella Donna,” back in 1981.

Although no details were immediately released about the track apart from the two singers’ respective tweets, it does appear that Nicks participated in the remix to the extent of lending her voice to Cyrus’ new song, too, as it appears in the conjoined mix, which starts off with Waddy Wachtel’s unmistakable 16th-note guitar riff.

“Stevie Nicks has always been my idol & an inspiration. It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram. Among the immediate responses were triply repeated fire emoji from fan Kacey Musgraves. Nicks herself posted: “Miley…Magical! Loved singing with her!” Read the rest of this entry
